The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be submitted beginning October 1.  All seniors should have completed and submitted your FAFSA online.  Visit fafsa.gov TODAY  NOTE: Be sure to choose the correct College year:  2017-2018; you will begin college 7/1/17 - 6/30/18.  Be sure to check your colleges' website for their financial aid deadlines.  Do not wait any longer to submit your FAFSA application - they may run out of funds!

Current Scholarship/Essay Contest for all students ages 16 -18:  Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. NEW - Kiwanis Club of Glendale is offering Clark two scholarships for $1,250 each.  Senior applicants must have a 3.25 or higher GPA, extracurricular activities involving not only academic programs, but also community service.  Financial need is an important consideration.  Applicants will be interviewed in April.    This is not an online process - see Mrs. Bondy today for the simple 2-page application.

Great Clips is offering “The Great Scholarship Program” in memory of Alice Madden Barton.  Value $250-$1,500.  For all seniors who will be pursuing a cosmetology career.  Their purpose is to promote careers in cosmetology and at Great Clips salons by providing scholarships or cosmetology tools to help get your career started.  Apply online at www.greatclipscareers.com/scholarships. Application deadline March 31, 2017. 

Senior Boys and Girls  CSEA California School Employee Association Scholarships offered by Glendale Chapter Two awards will be given; one for graduating seniors (all seniors can apply) and one for a dependent senior student of a CSEA Glendale Chapter 3 member.  See Mrs. Bondy for the application today.  Application deadline March 31, 2017. 
Dunsmore Elementary School Foundation Scholarship for graduating seniors who attended Dunsmore for at least three years, satisfactory academic achievement, provide verification of college enrollment for Fall 2017, if selected for their scholarship award, attend their Hilltopper Assembly (April or May)  or the 6th grade Promotion Ceremony May 30, 2017.  Come see Mrs. Bondy for the simple one-page application. Due date April 7, 2017.  Short essay required about your Dunsmore experiences and future plans. 
Mountain Avenue Elementary -M.A.C.K - Mountain Avenue Committed to Kids Scholarship and Recognition Award - Applicants must have attended Mountain Avenue for a minimum of three years; participate in extra-curricular activities and/or community service, show academic achievement, and provide proof of fall 2017 enrollment in a four-year college.  See Mrs. Bondy TODAY for the simple application.  Due date:  April 7, 2017.
Pasadena Realtors Charitable Foundation  - Is offering a $1,000 Scholarship to graduating seniors.  What makes you fantastic?  What are your plans to live a complete and productive life?  150-word minimum paper required - they want to get to know you and your goals.  This is not an online application.  Simple one page application.  One letter of recommendation and official transcript required.  Application must be received by their Pasadena office by Friday, April 14, 2017.  They will hold a reception for all the scholarship winners in May!

LendEDU is offering two $1000 scholarships for graduating seniors.  Criteria:  US Citizenship and 2.5 GPA or above.  You can use this award towards all college expenses, even living expenses!  Apply online:  lendedu.com/blog/scholarship-application/.  Application due date is April  15, 2017 Apply now - do not wait until the last minute!
La Canada/La Crescenta Kiwanis Scholarships-they are looking for Seniors with strong records of community service-150 hours or more; US Citizen/Legal resident; Minimum 2.0 GPA.  One letter of recommendation and Counselor’s verification of academic standing required. Application deadline:  April 16, 2017.
Plaintiff Relief - a lawsuit funding company - is offering a $1,000 scholarship - For Graduating Seniors with academic achievement, exhibit leadership ability, US Citizen or permanent residents, participates in community service, and demonstrates financial need.  Visit plaintiffrelief.com for the application and all criteria.  Application Due by May 1, 2017.
NEW - ARMENIAN RELIEF SOCIETY OF WESTERN USA, INC. is offering a $500 scholarship to graduating seniors.  Applicants must be of Armenian-American descent, 3.5 or above GPA, active in school and community, attending community college or 4-yr university/college.
