Café:   Wednesday – Asian Bar-Mandarin Orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, or teriyaki beef dunkers with w/g Chow Mein or Brown rice.  Meatball & cheese sandwich, beef BBQ rib on w/g Hoagie or turkey corn dog.  BBQ Grill specials:  Grilled chicken burger or grilled veggie burger or Louisiana Hot Link – all served with baked chips.  Served Daily: Vegetarian plate, hamburger/cheese burger, pizza, sandwiches and lavash wrap.  Come to the lunch lines, Window 3,  from 7:30 AM – 7:55 AM if you have questions about your account or to have breakfast .  Kale soup will be served Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays!

Seniors – All who applied to Cal State LA – The admissions rep will be on campus to meet with you TODAY, 3/1/17 during lunch in the Cybrary.  This info session IS FOR YOUR BENEFIT AND TO FIND OUT YOUR ADMISSION STATUS!  Also Q & A time!

Intramural 3 on 3 March Madness Game Schedule:  Please have one team member on game day come and pick up enrichment passes during lunch in the gym from Ms. Hutchinson. Teams that do not get enrichment passes will forfeit game.

This Friday, 3/3/17 is a banking day – dismissal at 12:50 PM.  All athletes will report to the covered area for Period 7 on Friday, 3/3; no sport buses.

SCHOLARSHIPS – MORE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ON OUR WEBSITE – APPLY TODAY! FINANCIAL AID FOR ALL SENIORS – You should have completed and submitted your FAFSA-Free Application Federal Student Aid.  Visit fafsa.gov TODAY to complete this process.  You will NOT be awarded any scholarship or college funds until this is completed and submitted.  Be sure to select 2017-18 for your college year.

Current Scholarship/Essay Contest for all students ages 16 -18:  Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. Visit http://www.varsitytutors.com/college-scholarship to enter and read all the requirements.  Read the featured/winning essay(s).  Enter your essay response TODAY– and no later than March 15, 2017.  Check their website for the April prompt - due no later than 4/15/17!

All students eligible for the ESSAY AND VISUAL ARTS SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST FOR GRADES 9-12: MARCH 24 DEADLINE: On behalf of Senator Scott Wilk and Assembly member Adrin Nazarian, I encourage high school students to participate in an essay and visual arts contest to increase awareness of the Armenian Genocide. HELP CHANGE THE FUTURE OF BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH  Apply now to La Biomed’s Summer Fellow Program – Fellowships begin Monday, June 19, 2017 and continue through Friday, August 11, 2017. Students receive a stipend of $2,200 for uninterrupted participation in the program. USC Wrigley Marine Science Center – Catalina Island is looking for high school students interested ocean sciences to attend a one-week, summer science program from July 6-13, 2017.  Selected students come from all over the United States to USC, then spend a week on Catalina Island at USC's field station.  The ideal candidate is interested in ocean sciences, willing to share their experience back in their community and ready for an adventure.  First in family to attend college and those under-represented in STEM fields encouraged to apply Travel and program costs are provided, students need to apply and include a letter of reference from a teacher.  Details can be found at https://dornsife.usc.edu/uscseagrant/summer-science-programs/.   Application packet deadline:  March 10, 2017.  Come see the flyer posted on the Main Office pillar!
