Café Thursday-Fajita Bar-Chicken fajita with w/g tortilla, Spanish rice, cheese, black and pinto beans. BBQ Grill specials:  Grilled chicken burger or grilled veggie burger or Louisiana Hot Link – all served with baked chips.  Served Daily: Vegetarian plate hamburger/cheese burger, pizza, sandwiches and lavash wrap.   Come to the lunch lines, Window 3, from 7:30 AM – 7:55 AM if you have questions about your account or to have breakfast. Kale soup will be served Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Perfect Attendance lists are posted in the main hallway by the front office.  Please check for your name by grade.  If you believe you were here every day and you don't see your name, speak to Mrs. Rangel so that she can do some research for you.

ALL LOST/FOUND ITEMS:  Students you check lost and found table and clothing rack for missing items. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity over spring break (3/20-3/24/17).

 

TOMORROW, 3/17 is a minimum day – End of 3rd Quarter and Talent show schedule (dismissal at 12:50 PM) –Spring Break is next week, 3/20-3/24/17.  No school on Monday, 3/27/17-Staff Development Day.

CLARK SPIRIT WEEK  - wear the following to show your Clark Spirit:  Today, 3/16 – Greaser Day – Dress up as if you are in the 50’s; leather jackets, cuffed jeans and bobby socks, or as “pink ladies” – (No gang attire)!  Sign up at snack at the bottom of the amphitheater for the hug a balloon contest with a partner during lunch!  Friday, 3/17 – Last day of Spirit Week – Wear your Class Colors:  Freshmen and Seniors – wear black;  Sophomores wear green, and Juniors wear white

Intramural 3 on 3 March Madness Game Schedule:  Please have one team member on game day come and pick up enrichment passes during lunch in the gym from Ms. Hutchinson. Clark's Annual Bridge Building Competition - Join in the fun of designing and building a bridge and then evaluating it through destructive testing!  See Mr. Gruss in room 4201 during snack and lunch for the rules and details. 

NEW - Kiwanis Club of Glendale is offering Clark two scholarships for graduating seniors for $1,250 each.   Applicants must have a 3.25 or higher GPA, extracurricular activities involving not only academic programs, but also community service.  Financial need is an important consideration Applicants will be interviewed in April.    This is not an online process - see Mrs. Bondy TODAY for the simple 2-page application.  Applications due to Mrs. Bondy by March 29, 2017!

STUDENTS! Summer School applications for GEF (Glendale Educational Foundation) are available.  These classes are not free of charge. See your counselor for details and recommendation.

CESAR CHAVEZ CELEBRATION presented by the City of Glendale on Saturday, 3/25/17 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the Pacific Community Center, 501. S. Pacific Avenue, Glendale.  Special guest speaker, live performance, family activities.  Free tacos served until 2:00pm or until food runs out!  Come get a yellow flyer from the main office counter.

HELP CHANGE THE FUTURE OF BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH - Apply now to La Biomed’s Summer Fellow Program – Fellowships begin Monday, June 19, 2017 and continue through Friday, August 11, 2017. Students receive a stipend of $2,200 for uninterrupted participation in the program.  Completed applications must be submitted by Wednesday, March 22, 2017TO APPLY VISIT:   http://labiomed.org/summer-fellowship-application.

All students eligible for the ESSAY AND VISUAL ARTS SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST FOR GRADES 9-12: MARCH 24 DEADLINE! Awards:  1st Place-$1,000;  2nd Place-$500;  3rd Place-$300: On behalf of Senator Scott Wilk and Assembly member Adrin Nazarian, I encourage high school students to participate in an essay and/or visual arts contest to increase awareness of the Armenian Genocide. Coastal Marine Biolabs (CMB) cordially invites rising juniors and seniors (current 10th and 11th grade) to apply for participation in 2017 summer research institutes offered through the NeuroLab program, an education research project funded by a National Institutes of Health Science Education Partnership Award. Learn how scientists peer in to the nervous system and study the role of genes and gene products in establishing connectivity among neurons….more detailed program information and the application can be found on the NeuroLab website at:  www.NeuroLabSEPA.org (you will have to create a login account). Students are strongly encouraged to review the information contained on the NeuroLab website – and to discuss this opportunity with their parents– BEFORE initiating the online enrollment process.  Since enrollment is highly competitive, applications should be submitted well in advance of the start date of each institute.  CMB no longer accepts applications on a rolling basis.  The application deadline is just five weeks away, so interested students should apply immediately for considerationand  NO LATER THAN April 1, 2017.    Decision notification: mid-May 2017.  STUDENTS WHO ARE ACCEPTED FOR ENROLLMENT RECEIVE A FULL TUITION WAIVER THAT COVERS THE COST OF MEALS AND LODGING.  OUT-OF-STATE STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAVEL COSTS TO AND FROM THE CMB LAB.
